Master Architecture Topic

Postby SGMonkey » Fri Mar 21, 2014 3:55 pm

This topic is intended to nail down the look of all the different cities, and the varying styles of the towns and villages across the region. Not only the architecture itself, but what the cities consist of. Markets, shipping, guilds and so on.

Towns / Villages
http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Pocket_Guide_to_the_Empire,_1st_Edition/High_Rock wrote:Their villages are pleasant collections of half-timbered structures of one or two stories, with the rustic inn, a shop or two, and perhaps a lordly manor completing the picture. The traveler need not visit more than a handful of Breton communities before satisfying himself that he has captured the flavor of the whole.

To reduce workload, some of the 9 cities could share tilesets. So picking ones that are visually similar.

Camlorn - Daggerfall
Evermore - Wayrest (??? Possibly, Wayrest may be unique and Evermore share with Farrun and Jehanna)
Farrun - Jehanna
Northpoint - Shornhelm

Orsinium will obviously be entirely unique.

Towns and villages could either all share the same tileset, or vary slightly across the region. Different building materials. Namely different rock type and different wood.

A separate tileset could also be used for the various castles and fiefs. Or they could use the tileset from whatever region they are in, just more fortified and smaller in general.
